Birding: It turns out that Glenking Tree Farm is in the center of a majoring birding area as claimed by the Chair of the Biology Department at Mount Union College. The McClaugherty Family spent Christmas Week at the cabin and sent this comment:
"I was thrilled with the diversity of winter birdlife, not only at the
feeder near the cabin but also in the woods and surrounding areas.
I observed bluebirds in a mixed flock foraging through the forest,
watched a harrier hunting over the marsh, and heard a great horned owl
at dusk.
"I would be interested in a couple of dusk visits during February (owl
mating time) to see If I can get owl vocalizations That would allow me to determine if owls
were breeding on or near your property. I guess I would be there
roughly 7-9 and would want to come at a time that I would not disturb
you or your guests though you would of course be welcome. If there are
such times during February, please let me know."
PLEASE CHECK THE WEB SITES OF THE ACTIVITIES LISTED BELOW FOR DATES AND LOCATIONS.
